The increasing use of the tennis courts by the Tennis Club and pay to play for locals and visitors on a daily basis, as well as the growing use by the Walking Football Group has highlighted the pressing need for permanent onsite facilities. These two main sporting user groups are expanding rapidly due to their popularity. Consultation with the local community has shown the urgent need for certain items, as well as as re-instating a pavilion with toilet facilitie, such as more accessible seating and a disability friendly children’s play area. There is a strong desire for re-establishing a putting area as well as enhancing the current football space.
Funding is currently being sought for the continued refurbishment of the park with the pavilion as a main priority.
Other defined areas for development that the group are seeking financial support for are:
- small childrens’ play park area disability friendly
- sensory garden area with additional seating
- definition of the flat space sports area
- additional defined areas for putting, cycle/scooter track and outdoor gym
