Marine Park Lossiemouth
KEVIN MITCHELL TRIBUTE
Kevin was a huge part of the Marine Park project . He was not only a much valued trustee, but a good friend to us all.
Most of us knew Kevin from our schooldays in Lossie and have enjoyed his company throughout the years, at many different times.
We knew him as a very proud family man with a heart of gold and hugely supportive of Lossie as a community.
We will miss Kevin in many ways but especially as a positive, funny and bright founder trustee of the Action Marine Park team and of the Walking Football group.
The new Community Pavilion in Marine Park, Stotfield RoadM/b> is well underway.
Permissions have all been granted and funding secured from Moray Leader, Sport Scotland, Landfill fund and The Robertson Trust as well as the funds raised through our community events. Tullochs of Cummingston are now constructing the Pavilion.
This build will assist and promote activities such as park run, junior football, walking football, tennis, biking, park yoga and a green space for multiple use by any local organistion and the community. Our aim is to provide local facilities that will support activities and events which are accessible by all.
If you are involved in a group or club please get in touch with us regarding events or activities that you would like to run in Marine Park. We want to work together with you to use and enjoy this fabulous local outdoor space.
The Marine Park is a wonderful outdoor space situated centrally in Lossiemouth and features tennis courts, football area and greenspace to enjoyed by all ages of family.
The Park is managed by a group of enthusiastic locals who formed the charity Action Marine Park (AMP) to revitalise and refresh the amenities and facilities.
In 2015 AMP (Action Marine Park) became a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) in line with the Scottish Charity Regulator recommendations SCIO SCO43530
Two refurbished tennis courts are available for hire which can be booked using the Book Tennis Courts Online button on this page. You can also join Lossiemouth Tennis Club which is open to all ages and run weekly playing and coaching sessions. There is also a small football area and a larger open green space for recreational activities.
Walking football is a core activity in the Scottish Football Association’s grassroots football strategy – ‘The One National Plan’ – which has a vision of ‘providing football for life’. AMP is a member of ‘Walking Football Scotland’ which was set up in 2017 to promote walking football. The Marine Park walking football for seniors group came into being in April 2017
During Spring/Summer 2020 the weekly walking football sessions in Marine Park will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm, commencing on Wednesday 22nd April. Sessions will continue until late September. For more information on walking football in Marine Park contact 07950798100
Whilst mainly for seniors all are welcome to attend these sessions as walking football is a good way to get active, have fun and socialise at the same time.
AMP have exciting plans to continue to regenerate the facilities that were enjoyed for many years and to enhance the park to ensure that locals and visitors have a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Future plans include an all inclusive small childrens play area. If you are interested or have any input in the development of this area please email
