We are deeply saddened to lose a good friend George Cowie. George was heavily involved in the Marine Park project for quite a few years. He was the steady hand, the voice of reason and always keen to give guidance. He was well known, trusted and respected and added gravitas to the group and the project. George represented Action Marine Park at other community meetings promoting his belief in the positive benefits of the project for the community. A founder member of the Marine Park walking football group and a stalwart member, George enjoyed and actively encouraged the continuity of this new sport. We will all miss him and send our deepest sympathy to his wife, Lorraine, Neil and Fiona and their families.
THE NEW PAVILION
CONGRATULATIONS AND A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped to achieve the completion of the new Marine Park Pavilion. You have helped to raise the funds for this wonderful community Pavilion along with Moray Leader, Sport Scotland, Landfill fund and The Robertson Trust.
10 years of running Family Fun Days , fundraising events and activities in Marine Park Lossiemouth has given Marine Park back to the community. This open green space now has safely fenced and accessible tennis courts which are widely used and a wonderful new Pavilion with toilet facilities, storage and a Studio space for multi use.
Trustees and valued helpers past and present have worked very hard through the last 10 years to ensure that Marine Park remains a community space where our local families and visitors can enjoy outdoor activity and now also the comfort of indoor space.
We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported the Marine Park project to revive this amazing green space, you have made this happen.
Our project continues and we hope that soon outdoors there will also be a small children's play space along with a dedicated putting area.
The Marine Park Pavilion will assist and promote activities such as park run, mini footgolf, walking football, tennis, biking, park yoga and an indoor space for multiple use by any local organistion and the community. Our aim is to provide local facilities that will support activities and events which are accessible by all.
If you are involved in a group or club please get in touch with us regarding events or activities that you would like to run in Marine Park. We want to work together with you to use and enjoy this fabulous local outdoor and indoor space.
The Park is managed by a group of enthusiastic locals who formed the charity Action Marine Park (AMP) to revitalise and refresh the amenities and facilities.
In 2015 AMP (Action Marine Park) became a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) in line with the Scottish Charity Regulator recommendations SCIO SCO43530
Two refurbished tennis courts are available for hire which can be booked using the Book Tennis Courts Online button on this page. You can also join Lossiemouth Tennis Club which is open to all ages and run weekly playing and coaching sessions. There is also mini tootgolf for hire, for individuals , families and parties, and a flat grassy space for multi use recreational activities.
Walking football is a core activity in the Scottish Football Association’s grassroots football strategy – ‘The One National Plan’ – which has a vision of ‘providing football for life’. AMP is a member of ‘Walking Football Scotland’ which was set up in 2017 to promote walking football. The Marine Park walking football for seniors group came into being in April 2017. For more information on walking football in Marine Park contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Whilst mainly for seniors all are welcome to attend these sessions as walking football is a good way to get active, have fun and socialise at the same time.
AMP have exciting plans to continue to regenerate the facilities that were enjoyed for many years and to enhance the park to ensure that locals and visitors have a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Future plans include an all inclusive small childrens play area and a dedicated putting area. If you are interested or have any input in the development of this area please email
